Transporting a Sports Car with Low Ground Clearance

Low front overhangs can contact a ramp before the wheels reach it. On a long open-carrier journey, a sports car is also exposed to road debris. An enclosed body and a suitable loading method address these concerns; the booking depends on accurate clearance and vehicle details.

Low front overhangs can contact a ramp before the wheels reach it. On a long open-carrier journey, a sports car is also exposed to road debris. An enclosed body and a suitable loading method address these concerns; the booking depends on accurate clearance and vehicle details.

Our examples include Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, Mercedes-AMG GT, Mercedes-AMG S63 and BMW M8 shipments.

Loading a low sports car

A suitable hydraulic tail lift raises the car horizontally from ground level. Where ramps are used, extended ramps and wheel pads provide a shallow approach, typically around 10–11 degrees subject to the vehicle and loading setup.

Inside, soft wheel straps and wheel stops secure the vehicle without loading the bodywork or suspension. Our separate guides explain the loading equipment and securing in detail.

What the planner needs to know

These details determine which carrier and equipment arrive. Discovering a splitter or a non-running condition only at collection can disrupt the booking.

  • Exact model, year and version; bodywork can vary between versions.
  • Actual clearance in millimetres at the lowest front point, including modified or adjustable suspension.
  • Splitters, side skirts, diffuser, rear wing and anything extending below or beyond the standard body.
  • Any front-axle lift system and how it is operated before loading.
  • Wheel size and tyre profile, so the strap can sit on the tread without contacting the rim.
  • Carbon-ceramic brakes or delicate wheel spokes; straps sit over the tyre rather than passing through spokes.
  • Whether the car runs and is registered. Discuss winch loading and paperwork for non-running or unregistered track cars before quoting.

What affects sports car transport pricing

The base rate is RUB 100 per kilometre, with additional services calculated separately. A calculation is prepared within 15 minutes once the booking details are available.

  • A dedicated van: one customer funds the journey, with a direct schedule.
  • Suitable equipment, including a lift, extended ramps, pads and wheel straps.
  • Loading time for slow manoeuvring and checking clearances.
  • Insurance arrangements for the car's value; our CMR liability limit is up to €400,000.
  • A fixed event date that cannot be accommodated in a flexible shared journey.

Ways to reduce the price

Keep the enclosed body, appropriate loading and wheel securing while adjusting the booking conditions where possible.

  • Flexible dates may allow a suitable journey already going in your direction.
  • A shared enclosed carrier can suit a car whose clearance and bodywork allow safe loading; assess the actual vehicle.
  • An accessible collection area saves manoeuvring and crew time.
  • Complete details at enquiry help keep the quote aligned with the actual loading needs.

Track days, exhibitions and winter journeys

For a track day, exhibition or filming, delivery must fit the registration or setup window. Plan collection around the event's access rules and agree the unloading area.

Tell us before booking if the return may involve a non-running car or track tyres so the appropriate loading equipment can be arranged.

An enclosed winter journey avoids direct road-salt exposure for a sports car on summer tyres. Allow for weather in the schedule rather than relying on the summer journey time.

Sports cars in our shipment gallery

Our Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS travelled from Moscow to Georgia in an enclosed body, on the approximately 2,000 km direction through Upper Lars.

A Mercedes-AMG GT travelled from Moscow to Saint Petersburg in a single-car van with an opening side. Its low splitter and 295/30 R21 wheels required care placing straps on the tyre tread without contacting the rims.

Our gallery also includes Mercedes-AMG S63 and BMW M8 from Kazan to Yerevan via Georgia, Lamborghini from Moscow to Sochi and Ferrari from Tashkent to Moscow.
